Phase 2, a local custom software development company, launched a new software platform called Drakewell for the oil and gas field service industry. Drakewell was formed as a new company but is under the same leadership as Phase 2. Drakewell is software designed for directional drilling, MWD, rental tool, and motor companies and manages assets, inventory, personnel, safety, and billing. Drakewell addresses the need for efficiency in an industry lagging in good management technology at a time when oilfield companies are in need of more efficient processes.

“We have watched our friends and family who work in the oilfield struggle with managing spreadsheets, information on whiteboards, and difficult software, and decided it was time that the oilfield industry had easy-to-use tools that helped them get the job done," says Shane Kempton, Chief Technology Officer of Drakewell and Phase 2.

Drakewell was developed out of Phase 2, a custom software development company that has 17 years of experience in the industry. Phase 2’s primary goal is to address complex business problems using technology and building custom solutions. Phase 2 has worked with directional drillers in Oklahoma, Canada, and Texas that all share common problems.

Drakewell was built from the ground up for and with oilfield service companies. Drakewell specifically addresses many management challenges faced by oilfield service companies and aggregates all of the information onto one platform, accessible from the field or office.

“Today, the industry is faced with some challenges that are potentially crippling for some oilfield service companies.
