Throughout our years of experience with various companies, we have learned many lessons on which we base our business practices. Our founder, Mark Towler, sat down one day and put together the Phase 2 Rules, a set of general guidelines to follow everyday as a business and in life. We find ourselves referring to the rules on a daily basis because they apply to so many aspects of our lives.
One of those rules is “LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DANCE WITH UGLY WOMEN” or MEN. To us, this means choosing the right partners and clients to work with who have similar ethical standards and innovative spirits. This rule has led us to finding great clients. We are experiencing great success with our friends at Pioneer Library System (PLS). We have been working together to create an extremely user friendly and functional solution for a country-wide dilemma (More on this topic in the next blog post!).
We are feeling spunky today, so we are going to let you in on a couple of our secrets to a successful client relationship.
Working with an exterior company can be the downfall or reason businesses do not take the first step towards their visions. The relationship with PLS is powerful instead of a hindrance because of our practices and philosophies around software development. We are a team of skilled, passionate, and engaged people who love crafting beautifully usable custom software that builds better business. The key differentiation that makes PHASE 2 easy to work with is that clients have the right to clear non-technical communication about the software being developed and the development process. Clear communication is a must-have for a successful client relationship.
Technologically impressive but ineffective software does not make for good business partnerships, but neither does unimaginative software that misses opportunity for real innovation. PHASE 2 and Pioneer Library System can agree on this, which makes each meeting meaningful and productive in their investment towards creating the final product.
